Photography

Courses and workshops in digital and darkroom photography, as well as alternative photographic techniques are offered for beginning to advanced students. Students will learn to express their ideas through the camera by learning composition, thematic approach, and special techiniques. Advanced students are encouraged to develop portfolios for exhibition. Excellent lab facilities allow both digital and darkroom students to produce exhibition quality prints. The digital lab is equipped with iMac workstations and two large format Epson printers. The darkroom features Omega enlargers capable of 35mm to 4x5" formats. The EAC also offers students the unique opportunity to work with 4 x 5" and 8 x 10" view cameras. Students must furnish their own 35mm cameras, paper and some other supplies. Monitored studio time (studio code 8201) is available to all currently enrolled photography students for a fee each term.

Photography classes will be offered in the main building at 2603 Sheridan Road. Please bring supplies to the first class (supply lists are mailed out upon enrollment) and be ready to work. Beginning students should bring their cameras to the first class.
