Figure Sculpture

Students of all levels explore the figure working from a live model. A variety of materials and processes are offered and students may learn to carve, coil build, cast, and mold using terra cotta clay, plaster, winterstone, and concrete with fiberglass. Anatomical studies in realism and the use of armatures to construct sculpture is offered as well as studies in abstraction and experimental studies.

Monitored studio time is available to all currently enrolled figure sculpture (studio code 8251) students for a fee each term.

Figure Sculpture Classes are offered by the Evanston Art Center at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street, Evanston. Classes meet in the southwest basement studio. The EAC figure sculpture studio is handicap accessible. There is a small fee for firing and casting. Registration is at the Evanston Art Center.
