Metal Sculpture

Students will learn basic to advanced metal working techniques (forged and fabricated) to create direct metal sculpture and functional objects. The Evanston Art Center's metal sculpture studio is equipped with gas, arc and T.I.G. welding facilities, a plasma cutting machine, as well as various cold-working equipment, and the only accessible coke forge in the area. Students should wear natural fiber work clothes and sturdy work shoes to the first class. The EAC sells steel, respirators, and other consumable supplies.

Monitored studio time (studio code 8301) is available to all currently enrolled metal sculpture students for a fee each term.

Metal Sculpture classes will be offered in the main building at 2603 Sheridan Road.
