On October 28th, 1929 Alice C. Riley founded the Evanston Art Center as "a civic agency for the enjoyment and study of all of the Arts." For 94 years the EAC has remained dedicated to Riley’s vision, welcoming Evanston and Chicago community members from all walks of life to join us in appreciating, creating, and learning about the arts. Since its founding, the EAC has expanded to offer a wide assortment of accessible classes and workshops and continues to welcome local artists to exhibit in our galleries. The Evanston and Chicagoland community’s support has been indispensable in maintaining Riley’s vision.
