The Evanston Art Center and Borderbend Arts Collective are proud to present "Trees Speaking to the Wind", a nature-themed performance event at the Evanston Art Center on Monday, June 20, 2011, with poetry readings by Allan Johnston and Tim Hunt, as well as phonography performed by an ensemble. This event also commemorates the 38th World Environment Day. "Trees Speaking to the Wind" is supported by funding from Poets & Writers, and it is free and open to the public, all ages.
Chester H. Jones Prize winner Tim Hunt is an active poet and has had works published in magazines and journals such as the Lake County Diamond. He is currently a Professor of English at Illinois State University. Allan Johnston, reader for the Illinois Emerging Poets competition and for Word River, has been actively involved in the literary community with publications in over 60 journals. He has received honorable mention and nominations in several contests.
