CJE Adult Day Services Creative Colorful Connections

On View: November 9 - December 8, 2024

The artists in this group are members of CJE SeniorLife Adult Day services. CJE SeniorLife Adult Day Services is a day program, located in Evanston, which provides a supportive and structured program of activities and coordinated services in a group environment for older adults with varying needs and conditions. Our program is beneficial to anyone looking to stay active, stay engaged, and anyone who is looking for new experiences, especially expressing themselves creatively!

This exhibition celebrates the vibrant creativity and resilient spirit of the members of CJE SeniorLife Adult Day Services. Each piece in this collection is a testament to the lived experiences, wisdom, and enduring imagination of individuals who continue to thrive through artistic expression. The title “Creative Colorful Connections” speaks to the power that art provides to communicate stories, emotions, and memories in a creative and colorful way. For many of the artists in this exhibit, it offers a way to explore new forms of self-expression, cope with life’s changes, and connect with the world around them. Each piece not only tells a personal story but also underscores the importance of community, support, and the power of art to uplift and inspire at every stage of life. The works here span a variety of mediums, from painting and weaving to mixed media, each reflecting the unique journeys of their creators. Clients were supported by our CJE Adult Day Services staff in the creation of these works. We invite you to explore and connect with the moments displayed in these works of art! This project is partially supported by a grant from the Evanston Arts Council, an agency supported by the City of Evanston; the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency; and the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal agency.
