Does public space really belong to the public?
Right to the Shoreline is a collaboration between Chicago Public Art Group and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, which commissioned CPAG and its core artists to create a public artwork in response to the research paper, "The Right to the Shoreline: Race, Exclusion, and Public Beaches in Metropolitan Chicago," by Samuel Kling, PhD, ACLS Public Fellow and Global Cities Fellow, Chicago.
An Artists' Talk led by author Samuel Kling and artists Cynthia Weiss and Sonja Henderson will be held at the Evanston Art Center on Thursday, July 7 from 7-9pm.
