Thanks to the generosity of many contributors, including indivdiuals, businesses and foundtions, the Evanston Art Center’s capital campaign, SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE, has received $1,932,826 in campaign pledges and collected $1,664,435 in campaign contributions. We’re confident we will not only reach our campaign fundraising goal of $2,500,000, but will exceed it.
The demolition phase is projected to be completed by mid-January. Final architectural drawings from The Dobbins group have been approved. Renovation will begin as soon as demolition has been completed. The project is on target to finish in time for the Art Center to move from its Sheridan Road and Noyes Cultural Arts Center buildings to the new facility at 1717 Central Street in May of 2015.
SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE is the campaign to support the renovation and outfitting of the Art Center’s next facility, which is located at 1717 Central Street in Evanston. This 20,000 sq. ft. former mid-century style office building will be transformed into The Place Where Creativity Meets Community.
While visual arts will remain our primary focus of instruction and programming, we will introduce complementary disciplines such as culinary arts, design, film, music, and performance. The open architecture and programming across disciplines will encourage new dialogue and discovery through expanded audience engagement opportunities with contemporary art and artists of many backgrounds.
If you’re interested in being part of this exciting initiative to establish a dynamic center of arts and culture in Evanston, please make a tax-deductible contribution to our campaign today. Pledges can be paid over a five-year period.
