Ten-week class beginning January 8, 2025
Course Description:
In this course, students will learn to think creatively about the garments we all wear and come in contact with every day. They will begin to ask questions like, "Could this fit me better? Would this be more flattering on me with a slightly different shape or in a different color? Could I use this fabric to make something else?" Upcycling provides us with valuable skills to preserve and repurpose the clothing we already own, as well as any we might come to possess, thus saving them from the fate of the landfill. Students may choose from a list of projects, or bring in their own pattern to work with. Students will have to bring in their own garments to upcycle.
