On May 29, 2014 ECF and community members celebrated the missions and accomplishments of Evanston's non-profit community. The many organizations who will receive ECF competitive and strategic grants of nearly $800,000 in 2014 were honored at the celebration. (EAC listed as one of the grant recipients.)
The Evanston Art Center’s “Permeated Surfaces” exhibition is a highly anticipated event of artistic musicality and fluidity. Alison Svoboda’s raw edges of torn paper, Cydney Lewis’s twisted bits of discarded plastic, and Sandra Perlow’s layering of printed and painted paper, creates movement permeated with notes of dissonance.
AA&A’s Howard Sandroff presents “The Obsessive Image” – a presentation and reflection on the relationship between his sculptures and musical compositions - his obsession to freeze the time and motion of music into static spatial constructions, which are now his welded steel sculptures.
