Opening Reception Thursday, February 20th, 5-8pm

Loyola Academy
AP Art and Design Exhibition

Loyola Academy is proud to partner with the Evanston Art Center to showcase the artwork of Loyola’s Advanced Placement Art and Design students. For the AP course, students engage in a sustained artistic investigation over the course of a school year to create a portfolio of artwork. Through research, experimentation, practice, and revision, the artists follow a line of inquiry to explore their ideas using materials, and artistic processes. The student inquiries are self-directed resulting in bodies of work that reflect their personal interests. This exhibition provides students with the opportunity to present their work mid-year and gain valuable feedback from viewers before completing their portfolios. In May, students will submit their completed portfolios to the AP College Board for evaluation. The Fine Arts Department extends its gratitude to Rev. Gregory Ostdiek, SJ, President of Loyola Academy, Mr. Tim Devine, Principal of Loyola Academy, Patricia Patterson, Department Chair, as well as Paula Danoff, President and CEO of the Evanston Art Center, Emma Rose Gudewicz, Director of Development & Exhibitions, and all the staff at the Evanston Art Center for their generous support.
