Course Description:

Introduction to the fundamentals of observational drawing. Begin drawing basic geometric forms and gradually advance to more complex subject matter. Using black & white media such as graphite (pencil), conte crayon and ink, you will apply a variety of drawing techniques to produce light and shadow, contrast, depth, and perspective to make drawings that offer a realistic yet artistic image. Perfect for new students and a good refresher for the experienced. Weekly demonstrations will offer a clear example of how to approach subject matter and the technical aspects of drawing. Individual and group critiques will provide objective feedback. It is my goal that each student will possess improved skill at making drawings of realistic subject matter.
